In February 2020, a few former students from The University of Michigan accused a long-serving university doctor of assault—this would escalate into one of the most extensive abuse lawsuits in U.S. history.

Now, over 1,000 claimants have come forward, including former students, athletes, patients, and others, alleging that Dr. Robert Anderson sexually assaulted them during routine medical examinations.

If you experienced a violation by Dr. Robert E. Anderson at The University of Michigan, you can join others in seeking justice and compensation—your privacy will be protected, and all communication is confidential.

Records have revealed that The University of Michigan knew about Dr. Anderson's misconduct, dating back to 1975 when a letter was written by UM wrestler Tad Deluca, warning of the doctor's actions.

Despite these early warnings, Dr. Anderson continued to work at the university, and allegations of assault continued to surface in the following years.

He served as the senior team physician for the university's athletics department for 23 years after stepping down from his position as director of University Health Services.

During his 37-year tenure at the University of Michigan, Dr. Anderson worked with various student-athletes, including football players, as well as non-athlete students at the Health Science Center and patients in his private practice.

Allegations of abuse spanned almost four decades, with survivors coming from different sports and backgrounds.

This case is not limited to male survivors; there have also been allegations from a handful of women who experienced assault at the hands of Dr. Anderson.

The impact of his actions has been far-reaching, affecting numerous lives throughout his time at the university until he died in 2008.

If you have been affected by Dr. Anderson's misconduct, your voice and experiences matter, and joining others in legal action can help bring attention to this issue and seek the justice you deserve.

We encourage the University of Michigan students & athletes who were victims of sexual abuse by Dr. Robert Anderson to request a free, private case evaluation for potential compensation and justice.
